Classes & Workshops

Flamenco dance classes can be a graceful, passionate, and intense experience.

And professional flamenco shows are a wonderful spectacle at any important event, such as weddings, conferences, or that special celebration you've been planning all year!

As of now, I do not have any ADULT GROUP drop-in or scheduled classes to offer, but I'm planning on it so please check back here, or contact me for private lessons!

You can drop in on a class by class basis for $10 per class. Classes are one hour long, and twice a week. As the weeks progress students will develop their rhythm through palmas (clapping), footwork, and bodywork, as well as Spanish language skills through songs. Therefore I recommend taking all 4 classes each month. Ideally students will come for the whole academic year as this would be most beneficial to their learning and improvement.

At the end of the term, the children will have an opportunity to perform for the public everything that they have learned!

Students will learn basic flamenco dancing skills: footwork, hand movements, arm positions and body posture as well as an ear for flamenco rhythms such as Rumba, Tangos, Fandangos, and Bulerías. Students will understand the origin of these rhythms and songs as well as the variety of cultures that have influenced Flamenco during its development through history.

They will learn the necessity of collaboration to promote individual expression in Flamenco. They will learn how to listen to each other while providing a rhythmic base with palmas (clapping) so that their classmates will be able to create their own rhythms while working together.

Students will also learn communication skills by channeling their passions and emotions through an expressive, collaborative art form. Students will shed their fears as they look at themselves in the mirror standing proudly, dancing with presence, and most importantly having fun!

Student Materials:
       Comfortable clothes to work-out in
       Comfortable shoes to dance in

School Materials:
       Room with a wooden/linoleum floor
       Mirrors
       CD player or stereo
       Student Journals
       VCR & TV to play Flamenco videos

At the end of the term, the children will have an opportunity to perform for parents and public everything that they have learned!
